In the first quarter of 2026, Xunlong Zhizao LLC announced an investment of 19.3 million yuan to purchase a specialized 2,000-ton hydraulic thermoforming press. At the same time, high-precision five-axis machining equipment was commissioned to develop, refine and test large-scale thermoforming dies for extra-long A-pillars and integrated door rings. This made it possible to significantly increase the technical level of the company's production base in the segment of high-tech thermoforming dies.
The company's existing equipment was designed to process parts up to 1.8m in length. The new equipment allows for complete finishing and testing of dies for the extra-long 2.46m A-pillars used in Volvo vehicles, eliminating existing tooling limitations for large hot-formed parts.
After commissioning of the equipment, the annual production capacity for the production of thermoforming dies will increase by 45 sets. The focus will be on fulfilling orders for dies for A-pillars, B-pillars with soft crumple zones and chassis reinforcements for premium automakers such as Volvo, Lotus and Hongqi.
This move will allow the company to expand its presence in the premium electric vehicle components market and accelerate its transition from a die manufacturer to a provider of complete tooling solutions for lightweight automotive body components.
